Western North Carolina Donation Drive

Over the past several months, our community has generously donated time, money and invaluable life saving items to the Western North Carolina area since the devastation from Hurricane Helene. The Morgan County Disaster Relief Group has been in contact with volunteers from Waynesville, NC and Canton, NC who have recently asked for some very specific requests and we know Morgan County can fulfill them! Our county goal is to fill 3 trailers FULL for a trip planned on March 8th. These are the specific requests that we have received:
  • Water
  • Disposable Paper Products (plates, paper towels, toilet paper, cutlery, cups etc.
  • Pop Top canned meat, soup, canned pasta (no vegetables, please!)

Starting Sunday, March 2 through Friday, March 7, there will be a trailer here at Covenant Park where you can bring donations to. If you have any questions, please reach out to Don Smith at 404-754-4842.

Ambrose Elementary Christmas Wishlist

UPDATE: Through CPC and other partners in this endeavor, all children have been sponsored and their wishlist has been fulfilled! The school is calling it their “Christmas miracle”.

We have the opportunity to help support Ambrose Elementary School in Coffee County by purchasing some items on their Christmas wishlist.  As you know, this area was hit hard by hurricane Helene and most of the local organizations that help the school provide gifts for children have exhausted their funds or resources with hurricane relief efforts.  The school has provided an Amazon Wishlist including toys, clothing and other necessities on the children’s lists.  Take a look and see what you might be able to help purchase to help a child in need.

Amazon ships items directly to the school. Please make any purchases by December 5.

Advent Reading Plan

During this busy season, we can easily become distracted from the true meaning of Christmas. Help center your family with a daily Bible reading leading up to Christmas Day.

“I’ll be home for Christmas” is a popular Christmas song. But where is our Christmas home? This 25 day Christmas reading plan is designed to provide a daily Bible reading for each day of December leading up to Christmas Day. We will see the significance of Bethlehem, reflect on Mary in Elizabeth’s home, meditate on the manger, and hear Jesus’ invitation for us to come home to Him.

Download the Bible App and search for “Home for Christmas” (25 days) or click the link below to get started on December 1.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is a mission’s program of Samaritan’s Purse.  Each year, through the gift of a shoebox, OCC can demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.

Please plan to pack a shoebox(es)! Boxes will be available in the church foyer and below there are gift ideas for both boys and girls.  Take a look at the video to learn more about packing a box. Make sure to include $10 for shipping with your box.  You are able to include it inside the box as cash or a check made payable to Samaritan’s Purse or you can pay the shipping online and print a prepaid label which gives you the option to track your box too.  Once you have packed up your shoebox return it to the church no later than Sunday, November 24.

Anne Harper (252-665-1102) is the volunteer coordinator for this program in our church.  Once again our church will be a drop-off site for OCC and we will need volunteers to help each day of Collection week, November 18 – November 25.  You may contact Anne directly to schedule time to volunteer or with any questions.

How do I pack a shoebox?

Watch the video below to learn more and see the lists for ideas on what to pack.

Building Update – 10/21/2024

Take a look at the progress update for October 21! We are nearing the home stretch and can really see the interior of the building coming together now.  Flooring and painting work are in progress. Murals are being painted in the children’s areas.  We are tying into the county’s sewer system and should have working plumbing soon.  Trees have been planted around the property as well.  Take a sneak peek with the walk-thru video!

Fall Fest Volunteers

UPDATE: All volunteer positions have been filled. Thank you for volunteering your time!

Covenant Park’s Fall Fest will be on October 20th. This event is one of our most popular outreach events. It brings our community together and is nothing but FUN! In order to make this event possible, we are in need of volunteers!

There are two ways that you can volunteer:

  • Host a Trunk:  Decorate your trunk and hand out candy (provided for you)
  • Give an hour of your time to help with a station (and still have an hour to enjoy the event!)

If you have any questions, reach out to Leanne Howell at leanne@covenantparkchurch.org.
