Donations for Traditions Hospice Butterbean Auction

Bring Joy: Donations for Traditions Hospice Butterbean Auction!

Hey Covenant Park family! We have a really special opportunity to spread some cheer and bring joy to the patients at Traditions Hospice. Our fellow church member, Cissy Hernandez, who works in hospice care, has a truly heartwarming initiative called the “Butterbean Auction.” Imagine patients getting to “bid” on items using butter beans—how fun is that?! It’s a creative and delightful way to bring some light and engagement into their lives, and we get to be a part of it!

We’re putting out a call to action to help Cissy stock up on some fantastic “prizes” for these auctions. Your donations will directly contribute to making these auctions a continued source of happiness and engagement for the hospice patients. It’s a beautiful way to show love and support, embodying the spirit of Matthew 25:40: “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” Let’s gather some wonderful treasures and make a real difference!

Here’s what we’re collecting:

  • 🗓️ Donation Window: August 1 – August 31
  • 💍 Items Needed:
    • Costume jewelry (earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings)
    • Small trinkets
    • Small seasonal items
    • Men’s ball caps
  • 📍 Drop-off Location: The box provided in the church lobby.
  • 📞 Questions? Contact Cissy Hernandez at 706-818-8089.

Let’s rally together and bless these precious individuals! Drop off your donations and help bring smiles to faces.

Serve with Operation Christmas Child

Join the Team: Operation Christmas Child Volunteers Needed!

Ready to make an eternal impact? We’re looking for passionate volunteers to join our Operation Christmas Child team! If you’re eager to share the love of Jesus and bring tangible joy to children around the world, we need your help. Whether you’re interested in packing shoeboxes, assisting with collection, or helping with other tasks, every volunteer makes a significant difference in reaching a child with the Gospel. We would absolutely love to have you on our team!

About Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child, a wonderful project by Samaritan’s Purse, gives us a tangible way to demonstrate God’s love to children in need. Imagine the smiles on their faces as they open a shoebox filled with simple gifts – for many, it’s the very first gift they’ve ever received! These shoeboxes travel to places affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease, bringing not just toys and school supplies, but also the Good News of Jesus Christ.

This incredible ministry partners with local churches worldwide to share the Gospel and make disciples. Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has delivered over 232 million shoebox gifts to children in more than 170 countries and territories! Each shoebox is an opportunity to share about God’s love, and many children also get to participate in “The Greatest Journey,” a follow-up discipleship course where they learn more about Jesus. It’s truly amazing to see how God uses these simple gifts to transform lives and communities.

Monthly Mission Highlight: Families 4 Families

May is Foster Care Appreciation Month, and we want to take a moment to express our gratitude to the incredible foster families in our church and community. To Kenneth & Jessica Niko, Robert & Bridget Biggers, and Aaron & Jill Wadley, and to anyone who may be helping to raise grandchildren or other family members – thank you! Your unwavering kindness, dedication, and selflessness are an inspiration to us all.  The love, support, and stability you provide to these children will make an extraordinary difference in their lives. Your willingness to open your homes and hearts helps foster hope, healing, and growth.

There are many ways we can all support these amazing families:

  • 💳 Gift cards (Visa, Wal-Mart, Ingles)

  • 🍽️ Restaurant gift cards

  • 👶 Diapers

  • 🍿 A family movie night snack basket or game night bag

  • ☀️ A snack basket for the kids

  • 🥘 Provide a meal for the family (one-time, weekly, or monthly)

  • 🚼 Babysit so mom and dad can have a date day/night or provide overnight care

  • 💌 A card just to let the families know you are thinking of them

In addition to supporting our church families, we also want to highlight the 52 Weeks Ministry, which supports all foster families in Morgan County by collecting frozen and non-perishable food items.

Let’s come together to show our appreciation and make a tangible difference in the lives of foster families!

Easter Egg Collection

Our annual church Easter Egg Hunt is just around the corner, and we’re so excited to bring some springtime joy to our community on April 19th! To make this event a success, we need your help filling those eggs!

We’re asking for donations of pre-filled plastic Easter eggs. You can fill your eggs with candy, small toys, stickers, temporary tattoos, bouncy balls, or other fun, non-edible treats! We kindly ask that all eggs do not contain chocolate (it tends to melt).

Here’s how you can help:

  • Drop off your pre-filled eggs in the church foyer between March 16 and April 13.
  • Please ensure all eggs are securely closed.
  • Remember, no chocolate please!

Your generosity will help us create a memorable and fun Easter Egg Hunt for all the children in our community.

We appreciate your support in making this event a success!
