VBS Volunteer Registration

Round Up the Posse: Join the VBS Trail Crew!

Imagine a week where our young buckaroos don’t just hear tales of Jesus’ love, but actually learn how to live out that love on the open range through everything they do. This year, we’re heading out on the open range for “Trailblazer Kids”. We are fixing to have the biggest herd of kids we’ve ever seen this year, and we’re looking for some bold pioneers to help lead the way!

Whether you’re a master at stirrin’ up grub in the kitchen or you’ve got a heart for leading a small group of scouts through the wilderness, there is a perfect spot for you at the homestead. It takes a whole village to make this happen, and we’d be honored to have you ride along with us as we help these kids connect with the ultimate Trailblazer.

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” — 1 Peter 4:10

🗓️ Volunteer Registration: April 12 – May 10

🗓️ Volunteer Training Meeting (Mandatory): May 17 at 5:00 PM

🗓️ VBS Volunteer Schedule: June 1–4 (Monday–Thursday)

VBS Volunteer Hours: 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM

🤝 Opportunities: Group Leaders (aka Trail Guides), Food Prep, and more!

A Note for the Trail Crew:

We’ve got plenty of ways to get involved, so don’t be shy! We’ll have a hot meal waiting for all our volunteers and attendees each night of VBS, and we’ve even got childcare covered for any little ones too young to join the VBS fun while you’re serving. If you have any questions as you’re gearin’ up, just reach out to Leanne Howell at 706-438-1288 or leanne@covenantparkchurch.org.

Grab your hat and join the crew!

Church Business Meeting

Covenant Park Quarterly Business Meeting

Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes to keep our church running smoothly? We’d love for you to join us in the student ministry room between morning services at 10:20 AM to get the inside scoop on our quarterly finances and all the exciting things happening around the church. This is our chance to stay in the loop, see how we are growing together, and ask any questions you might have.

We believe that being good stewards of what God has given us is a team effort, and your voice is a part of that journey! Since this meeting happens right between services while our Treehouse and Sprouts volunteer teams are resetting the classrooms, please plan to have your kids join you in the student ministry room. Whether you’re a long-time member or just curious about how things work at Covenant Park, grab a seat and join the conversation as we look at how your generosity is making a real impact.

  • 🗓️ Date: Sunday, April 26

Love in Action – Supporting our Foster Families Monthly

Love in Action: Wrapping Our Arms Around Foster Families

Scripture tells us, “let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth” (1 John 3:18). That’s exactly what our new Love in Action initiative is all about! We know that fostering is an incredible, yet demanding journey, and we want to come alongside the foster families within our own church family to remind them that they have a village behind them.

Each month, we’ll be coordinating a specific way to bless these families—whether it’s providing a meal (because who really wants to cook every night?), a fun activity pack, or a gift card. Participation is super simple: check the sign-up list for the month’s needs, pick an item, and drop it off in the designated basket in the lobby or hand it directly to Jennifer Farnam. Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus together!

Easter Egg Collection

Help Us Prep for the Egg Hunt!

Easter is almost here, and we can’t wait to see our church grounds filled with laughter and excitement! To make our community egg hunt a success, we need your help to fill thousands of eggs with treats and surprises for the kids. It’s such a simple way to share a little “springtime joy” and show our neighbors the love of Jesus through a morning of pure fun.

Whether you’re a pro at snapping plastic eggs shut or just looking for a way to get the whole family involved in serving, we would love your help! Just grab some plastic eggs and fill them with stickers, bouncy balls, or your favorite non-chocolate candies—we want to avoid a melty mess in the Georgia sun! Drop them off in the designated bins in the foyer or K–5th grade students may bring their filled eggs to the Treehouse on Sunday mornings to receive extra Bible Bucks.

🗓️ Donation Dates: March 8 – March 29

📍 Drop-off Location: Bins in the Church Foyer or K-5th bring to Treehouse

🍬 What to Bring: Pre-filled plastic eggs (No chocolate, please!)

Lent Collaboration

Help us enter the season of Lent!

As we prepare our hearts for the Lenten season, we are turning our eyes toward the road to Calvary and the incredible sacrifice Jesus made for us. This year, we want to walk that path together in a truly special way—through the creative eyes of our own church family! We believe God has woven creativity into the DNA of this congregation, and we want to invite you to use those gifts to help us all reflect on the Savior’s journey. Check out the ways you can be involved!

Lenten Devotional Guide

We are seeking 40 contributing writers to create a devotional for each day in the season of Lent.

The print and digital devotional guide devotionals may include Scripture, a short reflection, and a prayer. We will contact you via email in the next few days to keep you updated.  We will share a Scripture for the devotional along with the format we will be using.

Please complete this form if you are interested in participating. Devotions are due by February 10 so they can be sent for publishing in time to give out on Ash Wednesday.

Stations of the Cross

We invite you to participate in a meaningful, prayerful project for our community: a Stations of the Cross prayer experience created through art. The Stations of the Cross are a Christian prayer practice that invites believers to walk prayerfully with Jesus through the final moments of his earthly life—from his condemnation to his burial.

We are inviting members of our church—of all ages and artistic backgrounds—to create original artwork inspired by one of the Stations of the Cross. These pieces will be displayed together as a guided prayer experience, helping our congregation reflect on Christ’s journey to the cross.

This invitation is for everyone. You do not need to be a “professional” artist. Art may include drawing, painting, collage, photography, mixed media, sculpture, or other creative expressions. What matters most is not artistic skill, but a willingness to reflect, pray, and respond creatively.

How to participate:

  • Choose (or be assigned) one Station of the Cross
  • Spend time in prayer and Scripture reflection
  • Create an original piece of art inspired by that station
  • Submit your artwork by the designated deadline

Each piece will be accompanied by a short written reflection or prayer, allowing viewers to move prayerfully from station to station.

If you are interested in participating—or would simply like more information—please complete the interest form linked below. We will follow up with details, station assignments, and guidelines.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to serve our church through creativity, prayer, and reflection. We look forward to seeing how God speaks through the gifts of our community. Please complete this form if you are interested in participating.
