Monthly Mission Highlight: Madison-Morgan Community Food Pantry and The Caring Place

Serving Hope in Madison-Morgan County

This month, we are shining a spotlight on two incredible local mission partners: the Madison-Morgan Community Food Pantry (MMCFP) and The Caring Place! Both of these organizations are doing vital work right here in our community, living out the call to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our neighbors in need.

The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 19:17, ‘Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will repay him for his deed.’

Madison-Morgan Community Food Pantry

The MMCFP believes that everyone, without exception, should have access to food without barriers. Every Saturday morning, they provide 190 to 220 boxes of groceries to over 140 families through a convenient drive-through service. This entire operation is 100% volunteer-run and funded exclusively through the generosity of donors. Beyond groceries, they also work to provide pet food, hygiene items, and baby supplies when available.

📍 Location: Pearl Burney Campus (920 Pearl St, Madison, GA 30650)

⏰ Service Time: Food boxes are given out every Saturday from 11:00AM to 12:00PM.

🤝 How to Help: Volunteers are needed on Saturdays at 9:45AM.

The Caring Place

The Caring Place is a food pantry that has been serving our Morgan county neighbors in need for over 28 years.  This is a 501c3 organization that first opened its doors to residents of Morgan County on Good Friday, 1997.  Neighbors in need are welcome to come every Friday to receive a box of food from 8:00AM to 12:00PM.  The Caring Place operates solely with volunteers and is reliant on the generosity of faithful donors in the community.  We see the need increasing as we continue to sign up more new families each week.  We are currently distributing an average of 202 food boxes per week.  In addition to the distribution of food, our volunteers talk with clients, refer them to other resources to help meet additional needs, and pray with them as needs are expressed.

📍 Location: 1140 Monticello Rd, Ste 400, Madison

Service Time: Food boxes are given out every Friday from 8:00AM to 12:00PM.

🤝 How to Help: Volunteer to pack or carry boxes, help unload delivery trucks, make a food donation, or make a monetary donation.

📞 Contact: For questions, please reach out to Brenda Clotfelter at (678) 580-9749 or bclot112@gmail.com.

We are so proud to partner with both of these organizations! If you’re looking for a way to serve, please consider volunteering your time or donating items to help them continue this critical work. Let’s rally together to support these amazing resources in our community!

Monthly Mission Highlight: Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery: Find Hope and Healing!

Life is full of hurts, habits, and hang-ups. We all have them, and sometimes they can feel like a crushing weight. But you don’t have to carry that weight alone. God never intended for us to live in isolation, and through the power of community, we can find the healing and freedom He has promised. That’s why we are so excited to highlight our Celebrate Recovery ministry. This group is a safe and supportive place for anyone dealing with life’s struggles, whether it’s addiction, codependency, or just the pain of a broken past.

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12-step program that offers a path to healing. The meetings are a beautiful mix of worship, teaching, and connection, where you can share your story and hear from others who have walked a similar path. It’s a space where you can be authentic, and find the support you need to move forward. We believe God works through us to bring comfort to others, and this group is a perfect example of that.

  • 🗓️ When: Every Tuesday night
  • Time: Dinner at 5:30PM, meeting begins at 6:00PM
  • 📍 Location: Covenant Park Church

Monthly Mission Highlight: Bread Coffeehouse

Bread Coffeehouse: Fueling Faith and Community on Campus!

At Covenant Park Church, we believe in supporting ministries that make a real difference, and Bread Coffeehouse is truly special! This incredible mission is all about creating thriving, inclusive communities for college students, helping them discover Jesus’s love and learn to change their world with that love. Imagine a unique place on campus that offers good coffee, delicious treats, and a truly welcoming environment where the staff knows your name and treats everyone with love, regardless of their beliefs. That’s exactly what Bread Coffeehouse provides across campuses like Emory, Oxford, and Kennesaw State University. They’re all about serving Jesus by serving and loving students, not by pushing religious views, but by simply being there for them. It’s a true testament to living out God’s love in action.

Beyond just coffee, Bread Coffeehouse offers a vibrant hub of activity! Students can enjoy live bands, shared dinners, quiet study times, deep conversations, and even fun like ping pong and board games. It’s a space designed for real life and real connection, guided by their “Essential Ingredients” or core values. These include creating inviting and safe spaces, engaging students with authentic faith stories, serving campuses and the world with love, and celebrating life-changing growth within trusting communities. Our support helps Bread Coffeehouse continue their incredible work, providing a safe and nurturing space where college students can grow in their relationship with Jesus. We are so proud to partner with them as they refresh and impact countless lives on college campuses.
